The theater has been performing since 1935. Before that, there was “the Folk's House" – the center of culture and education in Nizhny Novgorod in the beginning of the 20th century. Gorky and Shalyapin provided financial aid in construction. The theater annually hosts the National Opera and Ballet Art Festival called "The Boldino Autumn'.

Is a small theater where students of the Nizhny Novgorod theatrical school participate in plays. Here young actors do not just play in a performance, they also take examinations. You will be able to get acquainted with new forms of theater and see future stars of the Russian stage. Here all feelings are genuine, acting of young actors is sincere and free from stereotypes.
