On March, 26-27 professors of The University of Silesia in Katowice (Poland) Alexandra Akhtelik and Agneshka Madeya delivered classes to the students of the Humanities faculty. The seminar for the students of the philological department was organized by Polish cultural centre of the Polish Embassy in Moscow. The Polish guests were welcomed by Vice-rector for networking and social partnership Mikhail Soloviev.

Minin University students highly evaluated the event. Within the two days, students got acquainted with contemporary Polish communicative culture, learnt phonetic basics of the language, tried to apply newly obtained knowledge talking to each other and the professors.

All classes were conducted in Polish which was a compulsory condition. Still, it should be admitted, that did not become a problem as any barriers were skillfully eliminated by Alexandra and Agneshka.

“We were afraid there would be dull lectures, but they were absolutely not!” “We did not think classes could be such a fun!” – those were students’ first impressions. “It’s such a pity everything is over!” “Will our guests come again” – commented the students afterwards.

We are totally sure that is not the last meeting with our Polish colleagues at Minin University. Moreover, as Vice-rector Soloviev. performed a well-known song ‘Hope is our life compass’ at a final concert, we cannot but hope for further co-operative projects on language and culture studies.
