The Education University of Hong Kong takes the 9th place in the world and the 2nd place in Asia (in the field of education), it enters top-150 in the sphere of linguistics.
Alexander Fedorov, rector of Minin University, stated the purpose of a visit of delegation from the Education University of Hong Kong as follows:
"The main objective of the visit is to develop cooperation. This is a very important partner who will help us to reach the next stage. I mean the QS ranking of the universities. The purpose of national development of our country is entry of the Russian higher education institutions into this world ranking. Each higher education institution which develops and sets the goals of the ascending advancing development in the field of education is obliged to do it. Apart from decrees of the Russian President, they are formulated in the objectives of the national Education project which we joined. Here it tackles the ranking of educational science, educational technologies where The Education University of Hong Kong is one of the leaders".
Professor Cheung Yan Leung Stephen, the president of The Education University of Hong Kong noted that Minin University and Hong Kong university are very similar regarding the technique of teaching and to level of students training. Besides, he added that "Minin University is the major pedagogical university in the region. There are many criteria and procedures to enter the ranking of QS. Minin University is close to rising in ranking".
Commenting on cooperation of higher education institutions, rector of Minin University added that three years ago The Education University of Hong Kong was choosing regional higher education institution in the field of education which would meet their requirements, correspond to their level and would have the sufficient level of knowledge of English. As a result Minin University became the first partner of The Education University of Hong Kong in Russia.
During negotiations the representatives of the universities agreed about creation of joint master programs within which teachers from Hong Kong will conduct several disciplines (modules). Also in February, 2019 the adviser at administration Olga Kim will go to Hong Kong as the invited professor.
Besides, The Education University of Hong Kong is ready to provide to scientists of the Minin university a grant of the government of Hong Kong on training within 36 months in a postgraduate study with award of the highest academic degree of PhD which is acknowledged all round the world.
Further expansion of spheres of joint research and educational activity, exchange of students and teachers is planned.
Within the framework of visit to Russia the representatives of The Education University of Hong Kong have already visited the Moscow Psychology and Pedagogical University, the Moscow city Pedagogical University. Alexander Fedorov stated that visiting higher education institutions of the capital will open new partners to them. Thus, there is atransregional cooperation. Alexander Fedorov defines further plans with partner higher education institution in the following way: "Broadening our scope, being engaged in search of a common ground, pursuing common goals, we are sure to start some other new joint projects".
October 11 to October 13 the delegations of both universities participated in a meeting of Coordination council of the Federal Educational and Methodical Association (FEMA) on pedagogical education which took place on the basis of the Russian state pedagogical university named after A.I. Herzen. The representatives of The Education University of Hong Kong and rector of Minin University made speeches.

The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) it is founded in 1994 as the Hong Kong institute of education. It is the only university primary activity of which is devoted to pedagogical education. The Education University of Hong Kong includes three faculties and also a number of the academic centers providing educational programs and courses for students.

The university actively expands partnership, both with the universities of the Republic of China, and with foreign higher education institutions. In July, 2017 the Cooperation agreement between Minin University and the Education University of Hong Kong was signed. Within cooperation the organization of programs of exchange for teachers and students of both universities, holding joint conferences, seminars, lecture halls, etc., the organization of joint publications and exchange of materials for the scientific research are implemented. This year the delegation conducted advanced training course for teachers of the Minin University it also took part in the international scientific and practical conference "A scientific discussion: the problems of philology and technique of teaching foreign languages".
