Minin University, represented by Rector of the university Alexander Fedorov, the Director of Institute of strategic research and development in education Elena Ilaltdinova, advisers Olga Kym and Evgeny Zakablukovsky, took part on largest international conference of professionals and leaders in the Pacific Rim of QS-APPLE 2018, taking place in Seoul, the Republic of Korea, from November 21th to November 23th, 2018. This year’s conference gathered a total of 475 academics from 209 institutions in 40 countries. In addition, a total of 85 papers were presented during plenary and parallel sessions and 57 exhibitors had the opportunity to showcase their universities’ offerings to participants at the QS Hub - Exhibition.

QS-APPLE is the annual interregional forum for leaders in education offering the participants from different countries an effective international platform for establishing professional communications, exchange of the best practices and discussion of new trends in the field of development of higher education. Special attention is paid to improvement of processes in the areas which are considered in the global QS ranking of universities. It is, first of all, about internationalization of scientific and pedagogical workers as well as the students, assistance to global employment of graduates, strengthening of the global impact factor of publications and reputation of higher education institution in respect of research and development and also about creation and development of the university brand in the international environment.

The representative of Minin University was invited to make a speech on the conference in the Internationalization of Scientific and Pedagogical Workers branch. Professor Elena Ilaltdinova Ed.D submitted the report on the subject "Professional Development of the University Academic staff in terms of International Cooperation".

The speech tackled the problems and proposed solutions in the specified field, in particular, by means of implementation of projects for development of the academic mobility, expansion of special communication competences of students and teachers, formation of a motivational basis and use of initiatives of both employees and students in the field of joint international projects implementation. The report aroused the audience's particular interest: the discussion was initiated tackling the questions of financing and other details of the program of globalization of the academic staff.
Please note that, Minin University hosted the meeting with the representatives of the University of formation of Hong Kong on October,10th 2018, which included the discussion of entering QS ranking by Minin University.
