Minin University hosted a delegation from Shandong University of Technology with vice-president Yi Yuchen as a head of delegation. The memorandum between the universities was signed in June, 2017.

The rector of Minin University Alexander Fedorov welcomed the delegation and thanked the partners for neat and thorough attention to Minin students at Shandong University. Minin University students study Chinese for 1 term or academic year at a joint program and then continue their studies at Minin University. Alexander Fedorov:

"We are really impressed by the level of knowledge our students acquired at your university and thus by your teachers' professionalism. At the sam time we  express our readiness to host your students. Minin University is acknowledged as one of leaders of higher pedagogical education in Russia and is among top-10 Russian universities preparing teachers. Four years ago we launched a program majoring in the Chinese language which has become the most popular at our University. I am sure together we can make it even more competitive".

As a result of negotiations the universities have agreed to broaden their co-operation program:

  • The faculty of management, social and technical services will join the program.
  • Shandong University of Technology will invite 4 Minin students paying for their studies and accommodation to study Chinese for an academic year. The university will also host 15-20 students paying for their 1-year course. The most performind students may apply for a scholarship.
  • Minin University invites 10 Shandong students for a two-week summer school in English.
  • Shandong University professors have expressed a wish to join a traditional annual in-service course for Anhui pedagogical university teachers.
  • The universities plan to exchange teachers: Minin University teachers will attend a training course in summer 2019. Shandong University of Technology is ready to send a teacher of Chinese for an academic year to Minin University.
