22-23 May, Almaty (Kazakhstan) - The first constitutive meeting of Eurasian association of pedagogical universities was held at Abai Kazakh national university. The initiative to found the association belongs to rector of Kazakh national university Serik Praliev and rector of Moscow state pedagogical university Alexey Semenov. Kozma Minin state pedagogical university of Nizhny Novgorod was represented by rector Alexander Fedorov and vice-rector for networking and social partnership Mikhail Soloviev.

Eurasian association of pedagogical universities is the first international public organization which is created in support of Eurasian Economic Community. The aim of the association is to integrate universities in the spheres of education and science. 48 pedagogical universities from the countires-members of EurAsEC have joined the association to date.

After a prolifirate discussion the members of the association passed the chart of the organization. The representatives of universites that have joined the association also signed Founders Agreement. Moreover, they worked out a plan of further actions which are supposed to:

  • develop academic mobility and academic exchange of both professors and students;
  • harmonize the system of pedagogical education;
  • enhance and strengthen relations between pedagogical universities;
  • form science humanities space as a way to bring together peoples and national educational systems.

Alexander Fedorov on behalf of Minin University approved the creation of the association. He underlined the need for thorough comparative research of national educational systems. The research will help to realize positive and negative experiences in educational systems of a post-USSR period and to find the most effective and promising way to develop pedagogical education.

As that was the first meeting, the executive committee of the association was elected. The rector of Minin University was elected as a vice-chairman of Eurasian association of pedagogical universities from Russia.
