More than 140 students studying at the leading universities of Nizhny Novgorod: Minin Nizhny Novgorod State Pedagogical University, Linguistic University of Nizhny Novgorod (LUNN), National Research University Higher School of Economics. (HSE), Glinka Nizhny Novgorod State Conservatoire - take part in the event.

Russian students presented in Chinese to students from China history and customs of celebrating Russian Maslenitsa, they told about the close connection of the holiday traditions with paintings by Russian artists, literature and musical works by Russian composers. Traditional songs and games performed by the ensemble of folklore music “Demestvo” of the Glinka Nizhny Novgorod State Conservatoire gave a special flavor to the holiday. The international students also tasted pancakes
and treated everyone with their national dishes.

"Minin University is committed to the careful immersion of international students in both educational and cultural environments. Getting to know customs and traditions is one of the most effective ways of learning, which allows us to understand the mentality of native speakers, as well as many language formulations, proverbs and sayings that we use in everyday life. Another important point is that we unite international students from other universities as well, which allows them to create a community of interest and feel comfortable in another country," said the Rector of Minin University Victor Sdobnyakov.

The event was co-organized by the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Branch of "Russia-China Friendship Association", opened in December 2023 on the basis of Minin University with the support of the Ministry of International and Interregional Relations of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, and Glinka Nizhny Novgorod State Conservatoire.

Earlier it was reported that Minin University signed a Memorandum with the Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya.
