Extension of the study visa

To extend your study visa, you need to contact the International Students Office  (Nizhny Novgorod, Ulyanova St., 1, room 233).

To extend your study visa, you must contact the International Students Office no later than 40 days before the expiry date of your visa. You have to bring with you:

- your passport,

- migration card

- 3x4 photo

- the state fee for visa processing is 1600 rubles.

The staff of the Office will prepare a set of documents and submit it to the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Within a month, you will be issued a multiple-entry study visa valid for no more than 1 year (but not exceeding the duration of your studies).

A foreign citizen may be refused a visa extension if there are 2 administrative offence reports issued to him/her  within 1 year for different types of offences. In case of refusal to issue a visa, a foreign citizen must leave Russia.
