For two weeks teachers from Anhui Normal University (ANU) will study history of Russian education, real practices and projects of Minin University.
Rector of Minin University A.A. Fedorov and Deputy Director of the Department for Investment Policy and Foreign Economic Relations of the N. Novgorod City Administration A.B. Chirkina took part in the opening ceremony.
The program of advanced training courses “Modern Education System and its Management in Russia” includes lectures, master classes, seminars, visits to secondary schools, additional education institutions and Minin University partner institutions of higher education in Moscow.
This year the program of the advanced training course for Anhui Normal University representatives will be organized for the fifth time.
Prof. Fedorov mentioned that people in Nizhny Novgorod are really interested in Chinese culture; eight schools have already started teaching Chinese to their students. Also, specialization “English + Chinese” is one of the most prestigious in Minin University due to cooperation of universities. More than 250 students study Chinese.
“Our cooperation project with Anhui Normal University fits into the interstate program “One Belt, One Road” (“Silk Road”) and is an important element of this program.”
Deputy Director of the Department of Investment Policy and Foreign Economic Relations of the N. Novgorod City Administration A.B. Chirkina announced that in May 2019 Nizhny Novgorod and Hefei, the administrative center of Anhui Province, signed the agreement on twin-town relations.
Cui Zhifeng, Professor of the Institute of Physics, Doctor of Physical Sciences, pointed out that at present time Anhui Normal University is creating a cooperation network with universities from around the world. Having experience of international communication, teachers and students will be able to meet the requirements of modern society.
“We appreciate the impact our interaction makes on the development of pedagogical education not only in Russia and China, but throughout the world. Such projects fully correspond to modern trends, namely internationalization of pedagogical education. This concerns economics and management of pedagogical universities, experience and knowledge exchange, and development of human resources. All this has a positive effect on the quality of education. The main goal of our cooperation is professional growth, formation of a solid base for research activities and joint publications. Together we can improve the educational system structure, the content of education and its models. ”
On the first day of courses for Chinese teachers first vice-rector of Minin University E.Y. Ilaltdinova gave a lecture “Russian higher education in the world educational process: main problems and solutions (2016 - 2025)”, in which she described how educational system has changed from 1995 to 2015 and what modern education system model consists of. Also, Dr. Ilaltdinova talked about main trends in the development of global education.
Within the two-week program representatives of Minin University will introduce Chinese colleagues to services developed by Minin University (“Pedagogical World Map”, “Electronic Information and Educational Environment”, etc.) and scientific projects of the university.
Moreover, the program of the advanced training course for Chinese teachers includes visits to museums (for instance: multimedia historical park “Russia is my history”, center of modern art “Arsenal”, memorial flat of Maksim Gorky) and the main sightseeing attractions of Nizhny Novgorod, the Nizhny Novgorod region and Moscow. Representatives of Anhui Normal University will be introduced to Russian folk crafts and will try Russian cuisine.

Minin University and Anhui Normal University began their cooperation in 2014. The same year, the Center for Chinese Language and Culture was opened.
Since 2015, joint educational programs of different levels have been implemented between partner universities. One of the projects is a double degree program. Advanced training courses for teachers of Anhui Normal University are organized annually. Since 2015, more than 80 employees of Anhui Normal University have completed the course program.
