Minin university took part in the III Expert Forum of the Volga-Yangtze University Association that was held on October 22 and 23, 2020.
The Volga-Yangtze University Association is an important part of the Volga-Yangtze cooperation format that was initiated by the governments of China and Russia. Main aims of the Association are deepening of humanitarian exchange and expanding of international cooperation. Sichuan University (Chengdu city, China) was chosen as the communication center of the Association from the Chinese side, Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University (Nizhny Novgorod city, Russia) was chosen as the communication center from the Russian side. The Association includes 50 Russian universities and 29 Chinese universities.
In 2020, Minin university and other participants took part in the online Forum of the Association. The main topic of the Forum was the issue of Chinese-Russian regional cooperation in the post-epidemic period.
For two days, the best specialists from Russia and China have been exchanging experience and discussing such issues as:
- regional humanitarian cooperation between China and Russia in the post-epidemic period;
- regional trade and economic cooperation between China and Russia in the post-epidemic period;
- regional scientific and technical cooperation between China and Russia in the post-epidemic period;
- past and future of the Sino-Russian cooperation of the Volga-Yangtze regions;
A special attention during the Forum was paid to the issues of higher education in the period of pandemic. Representatives of Russian and Chinese universities shared their experience and presented the results of the universities’ work during the lockdown and the COVID-19 pandemic as well as organization of the educational process in online format.
Minin university and other participants of the Forum expressed their hope that this discussion will contribute to the further development and strengthening of the Chinese-Russian regional cooperation in various spheres of activity.
