On December 13, 2019, a seminar for master’s and postgraduate students "International scientific career" was held at Minin University. International experience in training and research is a key element in the submission of academic papers to obtain a position of a scientist. The seminar included information concerning the differences in scientific career in Russia and Germany, on the different approaches in postgraduate studies resulting from these differences, as well as in obtaining research experience within the framework of scientific internship. In order to gain the required experience, universities offer a professional development program. Options for contacts establishing, scientific development and financing were also considered on the basis of proposals by the Free University of Berlin (Freie Universität Berlin).

The meeting was moderated by Tobias Studemann,the representative of the Free University of Berlin, a leading specialist in the field of international education, who also gave a lecture on "International scientific career" within the framework of the Scientific and Educational Public lectures. The meeting included the presentation of short-term and long-term research scholarships for young scientists of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), which was made by the representative of DAAD in Nizhny Novgorod Egon Hein.

On December 14, 2019, a seminar was organized at Minin University with the participation of teachers of German language of secondary schools and gymnasiums of Nizhny Novgorod region, where T. Studemann spoke about the terms of admission to German universities after finishing the 11th year.

The seminar included information on the possibilities of entering the German university after graduating from the Russian school, as via Studienkolleg, which is a preparatory course at the university and after the first year of study at the Russian university as well. Tobias Studemann presented a further procedure of admission to university and the types of competitive and non-competitive recruitment, the example being Freie Universität BerlinThe seminar gave practical advice on the terms, the necessary package of documents and the selection of specialties taking into account their peculiarities. DAAD provides the students studying German with scholarships to be used in German summer university courses in Germany on a competitive basis.

May we remind that, in October 2019, the II International Student Scientific and Practical Conference "Language, Culture, Mentality: Germany and France in the European Language Space" was held at Minin University with the support of DAAD lecturer Egon Hein.
