From 12 to 19 March a group of students attended a week spring school in China in the city of Uhu within the Agreement between Minin University and Anhui Pedagogical University.
The group involved students of each faculty. The major aim of the visit was learning both the culture of the country and the language. Thus, numerous lectures, master-classes, workshops, and seminars were organized. Evidently, constant interaction with the locals greatly facilitated getting to know this sophisticated language. The cultural program was vast as well. In order to learn Chinese traditions and customs our students visited Shanghai historical museum and several exhibitions. Numerous trips within the country, tours around Uhu and Shanghai gave the students a fine chance to learn moral values and lifestyles of contemporary China.
During the visit strategic questions of co-operation were also solved. The universities have agreed upon two mutual programs so far. First, a joint bachelor program is to be launched in September. This will be a four-year course when they study the first and the last year at home while the second and the third years are to be covered abroad. As a result, students will obtain two diplomas. Second, a joint 3-year-master program is planned to begin in September. Students are supposed to spend the first and the last years at home, and the second year – overseas. These studies also result in obtaining two diplomas.
Moreover, 20 teachers of Anhui Pedagogical University will visit Minin University in the summer of 2015. Minin University was requested to arrange an in-service teacher training course for Chinese colleagues. What is more, a professor of Anhui Pedagogical University will start teaching Chinese at Minin University on a regular basis since September.
