Official delegation of the Nizhny Novgorod region is visiting the Latakia province (the Syrian Arab Republic) in order to discuss perspectives of cooperation in the sphere of academic and cultural development of both regions. Ms. Lilia Erushkina, vice-rector for international cooperation, represents Minin university during the meetings.
The official visit to the Tishreen university, one of the largest academic and research centers in Syria, began on October 16 and will continue till October 21. The parties have already agreed to establish and develop academic, cultural and other types of cooperation between the province of Latakia (Syrian Arab Republic) and the Nizhny Novgorod region (Russia).
For instance, it was decided to develop co-operative academic exchange and student mobility programs, organize joint research projects and implement educational programs of higher education.
As a result of lengthy negotiations Tishreen university and the leading universities of Nizhny Novgorod, including Minin university, have signed memorandums of understanding.
