The opening ceremony of the school was held on September 26.
The rector of Minin university Dr. Elena Ilaltdinova mentioned that economic and cultural connections between Russia and China develops very intensively:
“This is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn cultures and traditions of our countries. We hope that this visit of Shandong University of Technology delegation will contribute to further development of strong and fruitful cooperation between the universities. Personal communication is the best way to learn culture of another country. Enjoy your visit to Russia and Minin university! ”
Ms. Polina Pechnikova, the representative of the Nizhny Novgorod city administration, also participated in the opening ceremony. She mentioned that Nizhny Novgorod has 17 twin cities. Two of them are in China: Jinan and Hefei.
The head of the delegation, teacher of Shandong University of Technology, Mr. Lǚ Yìxīn thanked Minin university for cooperation and provided opportunity to participate in such program:
“Students will be able to develop their horizons, learn Russian culture, get acquainted with the pedagogical areas of training at Minin university. I hope that our cooperation will be continued and deepened in future. ”
Chinese students will have a very eventful program in Nizhny Novgorod. During these days Chinese guests will have a walking tour along the Verkhne-Volzhskaya embankment, Minin and Pozharskiy square, the Kremlin. Students will visit the Museum of Wooden Architecture at the Shchelokovsky Farm, the Chamber of Crafts of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the Krasnoye Sormovo Factory Museum, the factory “Khokhlomskaya rospis” in Semenov and the gallery “Art of Chocolate”.
Also, Minin university will organize lectures on Russian higher education, Russian traditional holidays and folk sayings, stereotypes about Russia and superstitions in Russian culture.
