On February 20, 2020, representatives of Nizhny Novgorod companies and educational organizations had a meeting with the delegation of Uzbekistan at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The delegation of Uzbekistan included Mr. Shohrukh Gulamov, the Advisor on trade and economic issues of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Russia, and Mr. Fariddin Nasriev, the Consul General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Kazan.

Also, Mr. Ivan Razuvaev, the Head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Mr. Maxim Bezaev, Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Mr. Valery Yurasov, Head of the Strategic Development Department of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Commerce of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Mr. Sergey Zvonkov, Head of the Center for Developing Export Capacity of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Mr. Alexander Bedniy, Vice-rector for international activities of the Lobachevsky state university and etc. attended the meeting. Minin university was represented by Mr. Maksin Antushin, the Head of the international education and cooperation center.

During the meeting participants discussed the issues of cooperation development between organizations of the Nizhny Novgorod region and the Republic of Uzbekistan in spheres of economy, trade, education, etc.
Mr. Shohrukh Gulamov, the Advisor on trade and economic issues of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Russia, noted that "Relations between our countries are developing. This can be proved by statistics: in 2018, 40 mutual visits took place; in 2019 the figures rose to 80 visits." He also mentioned that today there are 7 representative offices of Uzbekistan in Russia: in Vladivostok, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don and Moscow. These offices not only represent interests of Uzbekistan citizens, but also develop cooperation between our countries in areas of trade and economy. Mr. Gulamov emphasized that "It is really great that so many companies take part in today's meeting. This is a sign that Nizhny Novgorod enterprises are interested in our cooperation."

Notes:
In November 2018, Minin university signed the cooperation agreement with Tashkent State Pedagogical University named after Nizami (Republic of Uzbekistan). This agreement provides both parties with the opportunity to organize joint research projects and publications, joint student activities, consultations, mutual visits and lectures, as well as implement exchange programs for students and staff members.
