One year exactly has passed since we started our education in China, and we are sure to say that this difficult year gave us a lot. The most important thing is, of course, upgrading our level of the Chinese language. However, we also improved our English! Almost every day we had an opportunity to practise speaking with students from different countries and attend English lessons several times a week.
At the university the students take part in various activities, showing not only their linguistic skills, but also present their other talents. Every year students of all countries have the opportunity to participate in the sports days, concerts dedicated to international friendship. Such activities bring people together, language barriers disappear. Excursions outside the university campus were organized for the students as well.
One should not forget that the main language of communication for us was Chinese, and we devoted most of our time to it. The university has excellent teachers who would always help the students in their studies. We had a Russian-speaking tutor who monitored our progress and discipline. The Chinese language requires discipline and selflessness. After mastering the general language course, each student has an opportunity to pass an international exam right on the territory of the university. I think it's very convenient, you do not have to worry about having to go to another city, and you can also get results at the university. In addition, you can get a scholarship from the university for excellent studies, though to get it you should really try your hardest. Some of our students applied for and were able to receive a scholarship for high achievements in learning the language. I cannot say that life in another country is very easy, but you get used to everything, and something even becomes an integral part of your life.
