The UI GreenMetric World University Rankings assesses the efforts of each participating university to develop a green infrastructure. The initiative is organized and overseen by the University of Indonesia in Djakarta. In 2017, 619 universities from 76 countries were judged based on six criteria: 1) infrastructure, 2) energy usage and greenhouse gas emission, 3) garbage collection, 4) water conservation, 5) transportation, and 6) implementation of climate change education at the university. Among the 30 Russian universities that competed, Minin University took 7th place ahead of four state capital universities. The organizers ranked Minin University high in several of the criteria categories; they sent a personal invitation to university President Alexander Fedorov to present at an international seminar in Semarang, Indonesia in April 2018. The results of the rankings can be found here.
